Diana's friend Janet introduced me to her father, Walter, who lent me a Widelux 180 degree Panoramic Camera to use on our trip. It takes standard 35mm slide film but shoots a slide that is twice the width as a normal camera frame. That makes for a cool photo but makes for a difficult processing problem in that the slide has to be scanned in a professional graphic arts scanner, which I don't have. Maria had her friend scan a few for me and I just found the scans while looking for other photos. This will be very interesting. There are some beautiful images from this camera and it reminded me of how much fun we had on the trip. I hope you enjoy them, too.

(As usual, click on the little picture to see the big picture.)

Perry, Maria, Diana and Rachael returning from a paddle to somewhere.

Whale bones left over from a big bar-b-que, or from a beached whale... I can't remember. There was some quaint native story about it that could have been bullshit concocted for the tourists. (The Story)

NanNookie of the North in front of Mt. Whitney. This is as close as we get, except for the day on the airplane. (The Story)

Point Barrow, the furthest North you can go in the United States while wearing street shoes and regular clothes. (The Story)

These are Jelly Fish. Also, me, taking the picture of them, which is why I took the picture. They looked cold. Ah, they were cold... it was 33 degrees in the water.

The Chester B. Perry on the left with binoculars, probably looking at a whale. Capt. Kent on the right, probably trying to avoid a whale.

Maria, Perry and NanNookie enjoying the Sun Deck. Remember, it's not how big it is, it's how you use it. Perry uses it really well.

The dead walrus that started the Great Walrus Hunt. You just have to check out the story. It's worth it. Trust me. (The Story)

Under way across Fredrick Straight, where we saw the most whales.

The reason we stop for the night is so I can get cool sunsets like this. (The Story)

"Say goodnight, Gracie."

"Good night, Gracie."
