Return to Alaska Home Page

Perry is a much better photographer than I and he takes good pictures, too. I would have put them on the normal pages but he didn't get them to me until recently and the site was mostly finished. Therefore, to showcase his art, I am giving him his own page.

He isn't immune from sarcastic captions, however.

I hope you enjoy his photos. If you do, please tell your friends. If you don't like them, just don't say anything. (You are probably no judge of art, anyway.)

One warning... these photos are a longer download because they are scans from prints and I loaded them at higher resolution than my digitals.

(As usual, click on the little picture to see the big picture.)

mariePerryWalrus.jpg (101294 bytes)
Any photo with Perry in it was taken by me with his camera. Or, he used a self timer and ran really, really fast.
PMJboat.jpg (106942 bytes)
People float their boat onto the grid at high tide. When the tide drops, sometimes 18 or more feet, they can work on the bottom for a few hours.
PMJbunnfamily.jpg (90627 bytes)
This is Perry's version of the Bunna Family. I like it better than mine.
PMJcaribou.jpg (114784 bytes)
I had this photo in digital but it wasn't as sharp.
PMJclouds.jpg (50687 bytes)
He gives great cloud, dontchathink?
PMJdrunks.jpg (70601 bytes)
This was taken on Hooligan Night at Sam & Lee's Restaurant. This is what Maria and I look like after a half bottle of rum.
PMJducks.jpg (37069 bytes)
I think I take better "bird taking off" photos but this one is more artistic. I wouldn't put one of mine on a wall. I'd frame and display this one. It is very respectable.
PMJeagleMoon.jpg (39645 bytes)
Perry really worked hard on this. I simply took three photos and Photoshop'd them together.

Look closely at the top of the tree and you will see the eagle.

PMJfeet.jpg (59515 bytes)
This is Perry's vacation shot of him and Maria relaxing on the beach. Don't forget it is about 30 degrees out.
PMJlowtide.jpg (129445 bytes)
This is just a beautiful shot.
PMJmariewalrus.jpg (100571 bytes)
Maria and the walrus Perry helped haul out of the water.
PMJmountain1.jpg (52819 bytes)
A mountain is a mountain unless it's a Perry Jacobs mountain. Then it looks like this, from the window of a plane.
PMJmountain2.jpg (93814 bytes)
There is a glacier under that snow.
PMJmountain3.jpg (31988 bytes)
Look at this photo closely and see the tonal range of the snow and the valley. It is very nice.
PMJmountain4.jpg (37556 bytes)
PMJmountain5.jpg (110266 bytes)
PMJmountain6.jpg (82780 bytes) PMJperryMarieboat.jpg (49836 bytes)
Perry ran all the way across the boat to take this very good photo of him looking out of the window with a pair of binoculars. He couldn't be looking with his camera because I'm taking his photo with it.
PMJplanegroup.jpg (54353 bytes)
Happy Birthday to you, honey.

Maria's birthday present was a ride. They went on a plane, too.

PMJshield.jpg (85625 bytes)
I'm not sure why he took this but I like it because it is a great logo.

Trust me, I'm in the business and I know these things.

PMJsmoke.jpg (73016 bytes)
Sing it..."Smoke on the Water, and Fire in the Sky."
PMJsunset.jpg (34138 bytes)
Perry's version of my sunset photo. He got the moon. I didn't.
PMJtotem.jpg (105363 bytes)
This is Perry's ...no, never mind,  it is the totem we saw sitting on the ground two years ago. They put the pole up and this is our favorite.
PMJwalrus.jpg (120022 bytes)
This was the walrus before he started using Vaseline Intensive Care lotion.
PMJwalrushead.jpg (91610 bytes)
This is the walrus after he lost  his head.
PMJwalrushead2.jpg (101435 bytes)
This is before he lost his head and while he was flossing his tusks. Walrus use really think floss on their tusks.
PMJwhale1.jpg (47650 bytes)
You'll have to read the trip diary and find the day Perry went after the whale. These shots were taken by him during the pursuit. He didn't fall asleep in the boat that day, I'll bet.
PMJwhale2.jpg (38288 bytes)
"It's a whale!"

"How do you know it's a whale?"

"I saw the smoke!"

"Whales don't smoke."
