I think the dawn dawned bright and early. I wasn't awake to see it so I have to presume that it did since, when I got up, it was beautiful. Everyone has been waxing enthusiastic on how beautiful the weather is. "I've only seen it like this three times before!" said more than one person. (OK, two said that while fifteen others said it only happens a few times a year.)

It has been beautiful and I've blamed it on Diana. We are on the last leg of the journey through Alaska and the weather has been spectacular. The mountain shots today are the definitive Mt. Whitney shots of the trip. I did them as 35meg TIFF files because they are unbelievable. (If you don't think so, ask somebody who knows and they will tell you that I am one magnificent photographer!)

Naturally, it wouldn't have been a good day without some drama and ours was provided by Mom. Yep... Mother Nature washed out the tracks between Denali and Telkeeten Station so we took a bus for three hours. Then we took the train ride to Anchorage.

(As usual, click on the little picture to see the big picture.)
