Christmas
Day Dinner
December 25, 2004

Tradition is only tradition as long as it stays
tradition. Until tonight, tradition dictated that we celebrate Thanksgiving at
Nowell's house and Christmas at Maria's. This means that Nowell and Perry cook,
spend money and create enough leftovers to feed a small military division
afterward.
Until today, that is. Maria decided that Christmas
dinner should be calm, uneventful and good. She moved the annual Christmas party
to the Hotel del Coronado for the five of us... Jody, Perry, Maria, Diana and
me. It was a good move. It probably saved her a few hundred dollars, saved Perry
at least a finger, if not more, saved the carpet in the living room and provided
me with a photo op that only required a 256 mb card instead of the 1 gig I
usually have to use.
