Every trip has a few “MUST DO” events and Volcano Day is a staple. This time, however, we did things for the first time. We went to the Thurston Lava Tube and we went to the most southern point in the United States and the Black Sand Beach.

Barry got to see Hilo, got to exercise his “break foot” as we went around tight curves in the rain and got to see how a Dodge Charger turns into an off-road vehicle in the hands of a truly creative and clueless person.

A good day was had by most.
