Sunday July 6
I started the day at 5 am going out and taking photos. Later, Diana and I
went to breakfast while Marie and Perry went and got fish. 121 lbs of King
Salmon to be exact. Marie dragged us down to see Dan the Fish Man where we
bought 44 lbs of fish, too.
Later on, Marie went to kayak and Perry, Diana and I rented a car and saw the
following sights.
The 5am shots:
(As usual, click on the
little picture to see the big picture.)
I like colorful floats on boats. |
Lots of interesting tones and patterns. Also a good message for
parents. |
Someday I'll Photoshop the heck out of this and get the fluorescent quality of the red tail light back. Until then, read the bumper stickers. |
Smoke on the water. At 5:45 am there is a lot of fog in Petersburg. |
Lots and lots of dock shots but few with reflections.
At 5:30am there isn't enough going on to disturb the water. |
A reflection of Petersburg harbor. |
This net caught my attention. Very subtle detail here. |
A "Bruce and Nowell" discussing breakfast kind of shot.
80-400VR at ISO 800. |
Sing Alley shops. I took the shot to capture the windmills in the
window. It will need some work. |
I did three versions of this and none came out as I planned. This is
the closest. The float is not bright enough but the polarizer really
darkened the water. |
Later in the Day shots:
Dan the Fish Man on his boat. Maria started a conversation with him at
breakfast and followed him to the boat to buy fish. |
Dan stands in his hold, up to his kazoo in ice water. He is looking
for fish for us. |
These are two of the three fish we bough. |
Ice floats almost twelve miles from the Le Conte Glacier. |
The Harbor Sentinel keeps a close eye on Petersburg harbor. |
Perry. |
A tree at the river. |
A water drop on a plant. |
Some white stuff on a tree. |
Rocks in the water. |
More rocks in the water. |
A great plant. |
