The theme this month is NEW TOYS. I got a nifty new lens, the Nikon 80-400 mm VR (vibration reduction) zoom that the best paparazzi use. I got a great deal on it in Omaha NE at a terrific camera store. I bought it for the Alaska trip but it works so well that I may actually use it on a regular basis.

This appears on the Atlantic City page but I like my thumb so much I decided to put it here, too.	This is a burned plane exercise area near the Philadelphia airport.  Nothing special about this except it is an interesting sight.	We call this CALL JOE. Late at night in Hubbard Woods Illinois, where I grew up. Lots of post work on this image.
An alley in Herrmann MO. I just liked this image. There is a lot of interesting stuff in this town.		Chicago IL from the air. Meigs Field which is no longer a field but is on the way to becoming a park is at the bottom..	A contrail and good clouds from the same flight. Nothing special, just an interesting image.
A bar window in Herrmann MO.	Wrigley Field just before the first Yankee/Cubs game.	Both shots from the same place at the same time. Top one using the VR function and the bottom one without VR.	Mom in her new place on check-out day. She is in the kitchen. I liked this shot for other reasons. I altered it a lot, with color correction and perspective control.
Hubbard Woods at night. Lots of work on this image from sharpening and color correction.	I took this because I thought it was the Number 8 that my son-in-law watches on the NASCAR circuit. It turns out to be some other number 8. It was done with the VR and extensive color correction.	Also a Herrmann MO shot. The back of the blue car matches the front of the blue car at the top. The bottom car is mine. Nice red, too.	Look at all the reflections in this sign. Downtown Herrmann MO.
Originally, I took this photo to test my S2 chip for dirt. When I looked at it, I liked it as a photo. I flipped it around and did contrast boosting plus intense sharpening.	This seedy looking stairway is in a posh part of town. I think that is why I took it.	Normally, there is too much movement in a moving car to take a photo like this with a normal tele lens. The VR at 400mm does just fine.
